Congressman Norman J. Gould of the 31st District has
introduced in the House of Representatives the following bill, which has been
referred to the Committee on Military Affairs; “Be it enacted by the
Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in
Congress assembled, that the Secretary of War be and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to donate to the Village of Port Byron, New York two cannons or
field pieces captured by the American Expeditionary Forces from the forces of
the Imperial German Government during the present war.”
Congressman Gould is always ready to benefit in every way
the people of his district, and his thoughtfulness and interest in Port Byron
is greatly appreciated by our village.
If the bill passes, which it undoubtedly will, the cannon
will be placed in the village square.
